So another year, another Lazy Bear. This was a funny one for me. I had a great time hanging out with friends, but got remarkably little sleep and got a little bit bored by the repetetive nature of it towards the end. I think there's only so many pool parties you can enjoy over the course of 5 days. I shouldn't really complain, it was nice seeing so much totty in one place, but it also felt at times like shopping for cereal in an American supermarket - I was paralysed by choice. But I met some lovely people - a special hi to bigreddee and fredtheplumber - I promise not to blank you in future!

I think I was also nervous about my DJ gig on the Sunday at Megawoof, and therefore didn't look overly confident - the key element to attractiveness. I needn't have worried in the end...my set went really well, I had great fun doing it and had some amazing feedback. Thanks to everyone that went and for the kind words. Don't forget you can see me in my San Francisco DJ debut at Bearracuda on 19th August at the Deco Lounge (provided there's no problem with me getting back into the country!). Check out the website

After my set I think i finally relaxed properly for the first time! And shazam, I met a rather nice man from Chicago. I ended up getting even less sleep than previous nights but it was definitely worth it. Hi Steve!

I hardly took any pics this year, but here's a rather nice one that someone else took of me and my dear friend Clive:

So, another trip to LA. And let me tell you, piggybacking on a friend's ad agency expense account is far more fun than trying to do it on the cheap. It's still a very odd place, of course, but Santa Monica - where I stayed this time - does have a nicer feel to it than many parts. Pity it's about 40 miles away from anything gay.

Unfortunately didn't get to check out the in-room spa treatments at the hotel as I had a weird low-grade fever thing all weekend which never really progressed into anything super bad. Had fun hanging out with my good friend David. Went to some good clubs (MJs on a Friday) and some bad ones (MJs on a Saturday) and had a couple of nice meals. Saturday we managed to get out of LA to drive through Malibu, and up to a beach called Paradise Cove which was rather pretty.

Hmmm... could do with some exposure compensation on that one of me.

Ended up getting back too late to go to Dore Alley Street Fair. Not sure I'm that bothered. The dance afterwards, Play, was super fun. Hi Troy!
